WISeKey launched NFC Trusted(R) for Internet of Things Transactions and Identity Injection

GENEVA, April 16, 2015 -WISeKey today announced the launch of their NFCTrusted ® technology as an evolution of the WISeAuthentic solution that WISeKey has deployed with leading luxury brands with over 1 million watches already digitally tagged and for which WISeKey has just obtained a US patent. The patent is available at http://goo.gl/ozgOQm
Trusted Near Field Communications (NFC), which hardens the trust technology within NFC; is poised to explode over the next five years, with the NFC-enabled wearable connected devices, smart watches and smart phones poised for us in payments and secure transactions. This rapid growth is driving a shift from traditional mobile payments to connected wearable device secure transactions such as access control and payments requiring trusted communications and authentication services. NFCTrusted© can be embedded on a connected device without requiring device modification or app downloads.  Last month, WISeKey and Bulgari launched the first ever Intelligent watch using NFCTrusted ® technology (video available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAyKfPOYwws ).

Embedding digital certificates based on WISeKey Public Key Infrastructure and OISTE Global Rootkey into NFCTrusted ® tags enables consumers to interact securely with nearly any IoT object or transactions on a trusted manner.
NFCTrusted ®authentication tags can incorporate a WISeKey cryptographically secure digital certificate to prove authenticity. NFC Trusted Tags can be embedded in virtually any product, piece of equipment or common household item, and users can verify authenticity with an NFC-enabled smart phone, watch, connected device or mobile device. This not only optimizes security and convenience, but also eliminates the need for special readers or other equipment for tag authentication and enables new use cases using proof of presence. “The combination of trust and convenience opens the door for the use of NFCTrusted ® tags in diverse markets and enables them to support a variety of Internet of Things applications”, said Carlos Moreira, Founder CEO WISeKey.
