The E-Government Strategy fastens WISeKey based technologies, applications and skills together to enable all tiers of public sectors to move towards electronic government, with the objective to become a world leader in its field.

Policy, procurement and technical issues in strategy must be driven forward. Partnerships need to be developed. At all levels throughout the government, a culture of innovation and learning has to be fostered.

WISeKey has assisted governments and International Organizations since 1999 understanding that E-government is not just about technology and electronic service delivery; it is about using security, legislation, information and communication technologies to improve the delivery, quality and accessibility of public services built around the needs of the citizen and customer. It means doing things in radically new and different ways. Service delivery is reengineered away from the historical departmental structure towards a model based upon and focused on the needs of the citizen; there is consequently a sharper democratic accountability with greater citizen participation and community involvement. E-government is an integral part of all levels of government modernisation.

Governments, enterprises and citizens are no longer content with simply obtaining information from portals or downloaded forms. With WISeKey’s Identity Semantics Suite they can now do everything online with confidence and assurance that it’s legally compliant with administrative law.WISeKey’s Identity Semantics Suite covers the full identity and compliance cycle: identify, access, sign, encrypt, validate, timestamp, and archive in a legally compliant manner. The partnership of WISeKey’s Identity solutions with eGovernment platforms such as Microsoft’s Citizen Services Platform, enables local, regional and national governments to allow citizens and enterprises to identify and authenticate themselves for applications across borders and across multiple identity systems in a legally compliant manner. This partnership facilitates public services across borders and across legally accepted identity infrastructures operated by diverse public and private entities. All levels of government can deal more easily with the complexity of identity systems and identity credentials. As a result, citizens and enterprises are able to use existing or new electronic identity credentials that are legally accepted, to make transactions across borders.

E-voting

e-voting

eVoting is an exciting new concept and its worldwide implementation is just on the horizon. Today, there are several eVoting solutions on the market which cover a broad range of systems from electronic ballot reading devices to electronic ballot boxes, activated by buttons or touch screens, mobile phone voting systems or voting remotely online. Back in 2002 the Chancellor of the State of Geneva, in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard and WISeKey, introduced eVoting in the State of Geneva, Switzerland. WISeKey played a crucial role in the early stage of the Geneva eVoting security system to guarantee the secrecy of the ballot. Subsequently WISekey has assisted several governments on their Citizen to Government transactions including the development with Microsoft of Citizen Service Platform projects.

The widespread use of information & communications technologies by the healthcare sector started over 30 years ago with simple email carrying purely alpha-numeric notes and reports. As email services grew, so did the demands on their performance and geographic coverage: more locations at more speed and with more bandwidth to cater to growing email attachments.

The past ten years have demonstrated an exponential growth in the uses of digital messaging by the healthcare sector. This is true even in the poorest countries. Digital transactions are taking over those functions that do not really require face-to-face encounters. prescriptions and reports, fixing appointments and scheduling services, referring patients and, where the telecommunications services performance permit, also transmitting medical images and their associated expert readings.

The acceleration of digital information is having a major impact on every hospital’s Management Information System. Likewise, the mobility of hospital staff and patients is changing how patient records and information are being processed. Health Care is a profoundly information-intensive sector, in which the collection, flow, processing, presentation and distribution of healthcare-related data and information are key to the efficacy, efficiency and economy of the operations and development of Health Care services, within a country and also between countries. All this healthcare information must be transmitted securely and confidentially, and in strict adherence to ethical and legal rules and regulations. At WISeKey, we can facilitate that.
