The purpose of Fundación ONUART is to promote art in the work of the United Nations, to facilitate understanding between cultures and societies and to promote the principles that inspire respect for human rights. The Fundación works with the United Nations and other international organizations to develop new initiatives to leverage art to pave the way for a better world.

Fundación ONUART is honoured to organize with United Nations Geneva the 9th edition of the Human Rights Concert in the iconic Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room, which houses one of the best known artworks in the Palais des Nations: the painted dome created by Miquel Barceló. In 2008, Fundación Onuart donated the complete renovation of Room XX, renamed as Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room to the United Nations Geneva. The room is an example of how art can become part of the daily life of the United Nations.

Thanks to the solid support of deeply committed partners, Fundación
Onuart is developing the Human Rights Concert as a world event that
promotes respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental
freedoms globally. Performed on the occasion of Human Rights Day, in
the very room that hosts the meetings of the Human Rights Council, the
concert is also broadcasted live worldwide.
