WISeKey Announces the Appointment of Don Tapscott, the 4th Most Important Business Thinker in the World, to its Advisory Committee

Geneva, Switzerland – April 2, 2015 – WISeKey SA (‘WISeKey’), a world-leading eSecurity company,today announced the appointment of Don Tapscott to its Advisory Committee, effective April 2, 2015. Members of WISeKey’s Advisory Committee originate from a wide variety of sectors that are of critical importance to WISeKey’s growth strategy, including telecommunications, financial services, and information technology.
Over the last 30 years, Mr. Tapscott has become one of the world’s leading authorities on innovation, media, and the economic and social impact of technology.  He has authored or co-authored 15 widely-read books, including Macrowikinomics: New Solutions for a Connected Planet and, most recently, The Digital Economy 20th Anniversary Edition.   Mr. Tapscott’s other books include his 1992 bestseller Paradigm Shift, The Digital Economy (1995),which changed thinking about the transformational nature of the Internet, and Growing Up Digital (2000), in which he defined the “Net Generation” and the “Digital Divide.”  Mr. Tapscott’s book, Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything, was the best-selling management book in the United States in 2007 and has been translated into more than 25 languages.
A frequent advisor to business and government leaders around the world, Mr. Tapscott is the recipient of several prestigious awards.  In 2013, he was named one of the Top 10 Most Influential Living Management Thinkers by Thinkers50. He also won the Thinkers50 Global Solutions Award ranking him as the world’s most important living thinker for solving global problems.  His 2012 opening talk to TEDGlobal, entitled 4 Principles for the Open World, has since been viewed more than one million times.
Mr. Tapscott is a Senior Advisor to the World Economic Forum.  In collaboration with the Martin Prosperity Institute, he is leading a new, landmark study of the potential of global web-based networks for cooperation, problem solving and governance. He is Adjunct Professor of Management at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, a Martin Prosperity Institute Fellow, and in 2012 he was named Chancellor of Trent University.
