100% Authentic Anti-Counterfeiting
WISeAuthentic offers a digital certificate of authenticity for luxury or other valuable items, to protect them against counterfeiting. It is based on the principle of the traditional paper-based certificate, but instead of using a forge-able piece of paper, a non-duplicable digital certificate is stored on a cryptographic smart chip embedded into a branded SmartCard. This allows manufacturers or resellers of luxury goods to prove the authenticity of the items to their customers, and of course, for the customers to prove it to authorities and third parties, even over the Internet.

Simple online sales monitoring
With WISeAuthentic, when an item is sold, its warranty is activated online using the shop’s official reseller SmartCard and reader. Information stating which shop sold which item and when is sent automatically online to the manufacturer. The manufacturer can therefore ensure they receive accurate sales information that can then be used for analyzing the impact of marketing activities and estimating the stock of resellers. This also provides a valuable tool for gaining control over the gray market.
WISeAuthentic also allows the implementation or integration of a unique, certified online retail shop and / or a certified auctioning platform.

Access is reserved for owners of certified objects, as the SmartCard is used to log in to this optional service.

The watchmaker and the leading global security company have joined forces to implement the groundbreaking technology used to identify watches electronically
Hublot watches are now protected by a SmartCard, proving their identity and origin. This innovative solution, which was presented by the watchmaking brand and WISeKey during Baselworld 2009, represents a decisive step in the fight against the counterfeit trade.
The idea consists of creating an electronic guarantee certificate, which not only contains the watch identity code, but also enables privileged access to a reserved space on the Hublot web site, called the “Hublotista Club”. Both Hublot sales outlets and clients are now able to use the SmartCard to instantly check via the Internet if the watch is genuine.
It’s the first time that this technology has been used as a protection against counterfeiting. “There is a patent on this method,” explained Carlos Moreira, CEO of WISeKey. “It is based on digital identification protected by a cryptographic SmartCard associated with a Hublot watch. We supply a secured platform which the buyer can access via the watchmaker’s website, and within an area reserved for watch identification. If the information contained in the card is not valid, access to this area is simply denied.”

Thus, as from autumn 2009, purchasers of Hublot watches will find the electronic card included in their watch’s case. In addition to the information enabling traceability of the watch, they will, thanks to this card, be able to connect to the Hublot website and get access to a privileged space reserved for them, while remaining anonymous. By the end of April 2010, 80% of the Hublot’s boutiques will be installed with the WISeAuthentic system.
