Personal Digital Identity

Personal Digital Identity

This digital certificate provides the individual user with the highest level of security; enabling identification, authentication, secure encrypted communications (e-mail, web site etc.), electronic signatures, and non-repudiation.

WISeKeyPersonal eIDs associate the identity of a person with a digital identity. On one hand a digital ID, or eID can be viewed as Digital Passports that inform Internet users about their interlocutors' identity and ensure electronic messages confidentiality.

Those certificates integrate seamlessly with the majority of existing systems. They are user-friendly, each action being performed via Windows-like active icons.

Main functions

WISeKey CertifyID eIDs provide the capability for signing and deciphering of an electronic message. Contrary to a PIN code, a digital signature is considered the most legally robust electronic authentication method indicating:
  • The integrity of the message,
  • The identification of the originator and,
  • Her/his expressed intention in it.
  • High Class Digital eIDs

High Class Digital eIDs

WISeKey only authorizes high-class personal certificates delivered through a face-to-face identification process. That way, no doubt remains about the Internet user identity. This high level of security is required in order to ensure a common quality basis for digital certificates internationally and cross sector interoperability.

WISeKey recommends that Personal eIDs be directly generated in a physical device (smart card or USB token) ensuring that no copy can be made during nor after the generation process of the digital eID .

This choice increases the level of security by reinforcing certified user identification and avoiding any fake of identity.
