Advanced CSP (Community Service Platform)

Background

The success of a community depends on its communication. In the digital era the communication is more and more realized via bits and bytes. In order to bring structure in a massive amount of information, there is a clear need for a transparent and centralised approach. This is exactly the goal of a Community Service Platform.

Communities can be approached by Government institutions, industry sectors or individual companies.
The Health Care sector for instance is a profoundly information-intensive sector, in which the collection, flow, processing, presentation and distribution of health, and health-related, data and information, are key to the efficacy, efficiency and economy of the operations and development of the Health Care services, within a country and between countries.

A crucial requirement is that all such flows must be fulfilled securely and confidentially, and in strict adherence to ethical and legal rules and regulations.

The Challenges

Governments and other structured organizations willing to approach a community face challenges not only in creating simple, usable solutions for complex services –they are also charged with ensuring that the whole of the community is reached, not just those with online capabilities.

In addition to the fragmented nature of current government services, citizens tend to have a multiplicity of identities to interact with government and with little knowledge of how those identities are being cross-referenced by government with positive or negative results for the citizen. On the same token, government finds itself in an uphill struggle trying to reduce costs and make its services to citizens more relevant to their individual needs and more efficient.

The WISeKey Solution

WISeKey works with key partners to create an end-to-end infrastructure that provides a security-enhanced, scalable, and easy to manage foundation on which government organizations and other instances can overlay the applications they need. Microsoft is one such partner who has structured their offering around four layers: core infrastructure, business productivity infrastructure, and application platform infrastructure.
WISeKey has the capacity to embed its products and services in all four lawyers enabling the customer to leverage the criticality of identity in a completely innovative manner, making the products and services provided by our partners, add much more value than they would otherwise have.

The Microsoft partnership

WISeKey is a Microsoft Gold Certified ISV Partner, and the WISeKey PKI is embedded in the Microsoft Windows 2008 server and the Internet Explorer of Microsoft. Furthermore, WISeKey and Microsoft have realised their first win in the CSP environment for the government of Biscay, Spain for the implementation of a Community Services Platform. This project confirms WISeKey’s vision and strategy and operational capability for the completion of this kind of projects in this core partnership.
